Abstract

Building self-esteem in children should be a reflection for parents from an early age, as many things can happen when a child feels powerless or has low self-worth. The first thing that can happen is that the child experiences difficulties in interacting with others, which can affect the way children socialize in the future. Intervention and support from the environment can help enhance self-esteem, and this is considered a fundamental need that can contribute to self-actualization. The waste bank is a program by an institution aimed at fostering collaboration among children, thereby nurturing their self-confidence from an early age. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method. The population in this study consists of children aged 4 to 6 years, with a sample of 96 children within that age range. The collected data led to the conclusion that the quality of self-esteem in children aged 4 to 6 years falls within the very good criteria, represented by 67 children with a percentage interval of 81.25% - 100%. In the good criteria, there are 28 children with a percentage interval of 62.50% - 81.24%. Lastly, the less good criteria are represented by 1 child with a percentage interval of 43.75% - 62.40%.
